Greenough River Solar Farm
Greenough River Solar Farm (10MW) was built by Verve Energy and joint venture partners GE Financial Services.
The solar farm, located about 50kms south-east of Geraldton, is Australia's first utility-scale solar farm, generating up to 10MW of power - enough to service about 3000 average homes. The wind farm was officially opened on October 12, 2012.
US company First Solar provided the PV technology, using more than 150,000 thin film PV modules to construct the solar farm.
