Bremer Bay Wind-Diesel System

The electricity supply to the south-coast town of Bremer Bay is backed-up by a wind-diesel system made up of a 600kW wind turbine and a 1.3MW low-load diesel power station.

The wind turbine provides on average 40% of the town’s electricity. This reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 1100 tonnes a year and cuts diesel consumption by up to 400,000 litres a year.

Bremer Bay is an isolated town on the south coast of Western Australia.
