Muja

Muja Power Station, Verve Energy's biggest power station, is situated 225 kilometres south east of Perth and 22 kilometres east of Collie. The coal-fired power station is capable of producing 854 megawatt (MW) of electricity or enough energy to power about 300,000 homes.

Muja Power Station has two 200MW and two 227MW generating units making up Stages C and D. Stages A and B were closed in April 2007. These units are currently being refurbished and will be recommissioned by 2012. This is an interim measure during the transition to clean technologies. (See PROJECTS, Muja AB).

Muja Power Station was officially opened on 21 April, 1966.
