Collie

We have two power stations near the south-west town of Collie, Muja Power Station and Collie Power Station, both of which use coal from the Collie Basin coal fields.

Collie Power Station is a base load power station which is capable of producing up to 340MW of electricity for the South West Interconnected System (SWIS). It has the biggest single generation unit of all our power stations.

The power station, which opened in 1999, is owned by Verve Energy, and operated and maintained by Transfield Worley Power Services.

Coal for the power station is transported on conveyor from the nearby Collie coal mines.
