As part of that vision, we recognise the importance of developing our workforce for the successful operation of our power stations.
Apprenticeships combine on-the-job practical experience with a structured training program, and provide candidates with a nationally-recognised qualification.
In 2007 Verve Energy will offer six apprenticeships, four at Muja Power Station near Collie and two at Kwinana Power Station at Naval Base. We plan to offer three apprenticeships in 2008.
Apprenticeships will be advertised in the West Australian newspaper and some country papers around August this year.
A traineeship is a structured program combining on and off the job training. The benefits for trainees include:
