Verve Energy, the State’s biggest electricity supplier and one of the most important utilities, has appointed a new Chief Executive.
Verve Energy Board chairman Peter West announced today that Ms Shirley In’t Veld would take up the CEO position on Monday 30 April 2007.
“Ms In’t Veld has the qualifications and experience to lead Verve Energy through the challenging times facing the company in the developing competitive WA electricity market,” Mr West said.
For the past 10 years, Ms In’t Veld has held senior positions with Alcoa, and before that worked with WMC Resources, Bankwest, Bond Corporation, Western Mining Corporation and legal firm Mallesons.
A Melbourne University law and commerce graduate, Ms In’t Veld lives in Perth.
VERVE ENERGY is WA’s biggest electricity supplier, with 3480MW of electricity generating capacity in the Muja, Collie, Kwinana, Cockburn and Pinjar power stations.
It supplies about 85% of Western Australia’s electricity. With a workforce of over 500 and assets of about $2 billion, Verve Energy is one of WA’s major utilities
