Verve Energy Chairman David Eiszele today said that Shirley In’t Veld, Managing Director for the past five years, will leave the company when her contract expires on 30 April 2012.
The Board respects Ms In’t Veld’s decision not to extend her contract. The Board will shortly commence the process to select a new Managing Director, and an announcement is expected before the end of April. Mr Eiszele complimented Ms In’t Veld on the quality of her leadership which had helped turn the company around.
"Verve Energy in 2012 is a very different and better performing business to that which Shirley joined five years ago. Under Shirley’s leadership Verve Energy has emerged from the gloom of 2007 to the bright and profitable situation we find ourselves in today. We are very well placed to continue our progress while managing the challenges of the future, thanks to Shirley’s commitment, resilience and strength of character," Mr Eiszele said.
Ms In’t Veld said that the last five years had been both rewarding and challenging. “I have enjoyed my time with Verve Energy and continue to be impressed with the quality of the people in the business. I have done what I wanted to do, and it is time for me to look at other opportunities. I leave confident that the business will continue to prosper and play its part in the competitive market and the economic development of WA.”
