Diesel & Wind Systems

Diesel & Wind Systems, D&WS, is a Verve Energy brand name. The brand was created to market the expertise gained over the past two decades in designing, installing and operating wind-diesel and related systems.

D&WS was formed in June 2003 and operates out of Perth, Western Australia. Its engineers have experience in the utility industry, and specialist knowledge of wind turbine technology and control systems. D&WS run a number of wind farms and diesel systems, and staff has worked in a variety of climates including Antarctica and Cocos Island in the tropics.

D&WS wind-diesel power station systems have been operating successfully for almost a decade. New power station systems are steadily being developed, particularly for communities at regional and remote sites around Western Australia.

These systems are efficient and reliable. In most instances they are designed to achieve less than two outages each year. As well, the wind energy can offset diesel usage by 50% or more. These systems are world-leading technology.

The next step in the D&WS technology development process is to run the diesel portion of a power station using biodiesel making the station a source of 100% renewable electricity.
