EMISWEB
The Verve Energy’s EMS is driven by an intranet based program (EMISWeb), developed to record and facilitate activities undertaken to fulfil our due diligence requirements. It includes all of the elements of ISO 14001, in particular a detailed legal requirements database and effective risk assessment and management databases.
EMISWeb is used to manage our environmental risks, assist in the prevention, control and abatement of pollution and environmental harm, and support the protection of the environment. It is accessible by all Verve Energy personnel and has links to all of our internal computing systems.
Specifically, EMISWeb is used to:
- communicate and track legal compliance issues;
- assess and manage our environmental risks;
- promote environmental awareness;
- encourage environmental leadership;
- draw attention to environmental protection;
- communicate practical environmental programs; and
- track and record environmental performance.
EMISWeb provides our employees and contractors with:
- access to important environmental legislation;
- environmental procedures and guidelines;
- a forum to submit environmental queries; and
- a resource for the identification of areas of environmental risk requiring management and special precaution.
It therefore ensures continual improvement of Verve Energy's environmental performance.
